Painter Byun Si-ji - Born in Jeju in 1926, selected at the Japan Gwangpunghoe in 1947, 1948 Received the grand prize at the 34th Japan Gwangpunghoe Exhibition, 1949 One solo exhibition at Shiseido Gallery, Japan, Returned to Korea in 1957, served as head of the art department at Seorabeol University of Arts, retired from the art education department at Jeju National University, Publication of Byun Si-ji's Jeju Weathering, receiving the National Merit Medal, Seogwipo Citizen Award, Over 50 solo exhibitions, including the opening exhibition of the special exhibition hall at Seogwipo Gidang Art Museum. Writer living in Jeju, Deceased in 2013
