Trip to Pune, India on October 6, 2023 (3) Visit to Karla Caves
Kala Cave is an example of rock-cut architecture in India and is a rock cave shrine built by a Buddhist monk around the 3rd or 2nd century BC. There is a rock cave on the main trade route from the Arabian Sea east to the Deccan plateau. The location of Kali geographically separates North India and South India. Early Indian temples tended to be built in natural areas close to major trade routes to provide accommodation for traveling traders.
